Communications Rebel is here! Hooray!

Jan 11 2013 · Rebel Yell

Get news, advice and ideas for less ordinary, less boring + bolder communication.Hooray! Communications Rebel is here! *happy rebel dance* Yes, I’m THAT excited!! And I’m inviting you to leap for joy with me. Because really, this site is for you.

My wish was to give people a space where they can uncover their purpose & their true voice and ways to express it. Communications Rebel – and this online rebel hub – brings my idea to life. It all started when I attended the World Domination Summit in Portland this summer. Fueled by conversations I had with many brilliant people at the event I returned to Los Angeles super motivated and with a clear vision on what my new biz would look like. I immediately got to work on Communications Rebel hiring superstar design consultant Margo Graxeda for the logo development and web designer Anke Mackenthun of Spongeworks to take care of all things web creation. You’re experiencing their creation as you’re reading this!

Feel free to browse around and let me know what you think. Really, I mean it. Shoot me a note or send me a tweet. I’d love to hear from you!

You’re probably asking yourself: so what is this communications rebel thing all about?

Let me explain:

After years of working many communications jobs – journalist, TV reporter, PR consultant, website manager, marketing manager and communications specialist, it dawned on me that in order for people to truly connect with your story you need to tell it from the heart.

Out of the companies and entrepreneurs I’ve worked with, those that were most successful were the ones that let their voice be shaped by their purpose and their vision. Or as Simon Sinek (one of my rebel heroes) would put it, the companies that can tell us why they exist and that put their “why” into action every day are the ones with the most loyal fans. Think Apple, for example.

It takes insight, self-reflection, and sincerity to discover the voice that embodies all that you stand for, all that you are. It’s the one thing that only you offer to the world. And in order to uncover your true voice, you’ll have to look inwards rather than spending time on figuring out what the competition is up to and where the market is headed.

I’ve had a life-long fascination for people and companies that own their voice and inspire us with their stories. The truth is it takes a communications rebel to shake up an audience.

I’m excited to take you on a journey to discover your true voice and help you start your communications rebellion. You know, it will make all the difference.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you around in rebel town!
