You know a rebel brand when you see it. Well, in this case I knew I had encountered a #rebelbrand when I tasted it. I’m talking about a sweet and delicious crêpe as you would normally find them in France.

On a road trip to Monterey, California, my husband and I stumbled upon Crêpes of Brittany, a small eatery on Monterey’s Fisherman’s Wharf. You wouldn’t expect an authentic French culinary experience on a pier that is lined with seafood restaurants and tourist gift shops.

Crepes of Brittany

Daniel, owner at Crêpes of Brittany, making one of his delicious crêpe

But here we were, on a Tuesday afternoon on the pier at Crêpes of Brittany, ordering two crêpes to satisfy our sweet tooth. The first bite into my cinnamon apple caramel crêpe sent my palate right to heaven and back. I had never tasted a crêpe as delicious as that one! My husband’s cooked banana caramel version of this sweet French culinary delight triggered the same reaction: best crêpe EVER!

Making the best crêpes possible

We started talking to the chef, who introduced himself as Daniel, the owner of Crêpes of Brittany. Daniel, who is from Brittany, told us that his mission is to make the best crêpes possible and give his customers an unforgettable and authentic food experience.

His secret lies in using only the freshest ingredients, bought at the local farmer’s markets. He prepares everything from scratch, including the crêpe batter, the whipped cream and the salted butter caramel sauce that goes on top.

His savory galettes are using a batter made from organic buckwheat flour, just as it’s done in Brittany. Daniel’s focus on every detail when it comes to preparing his sweet and savory delights translates into an unforgettable culinary experience.

On top of making possibly the best crêpes outside of Brittany, Daniel is a wonderful and warm person who makes his customers feel welcome as soon as they set foot in his little crêperie on Fisherman’s Wharf.

Recipe for success: Wow your audience

Crêpes of Brittany is a true rebel brand because Daniel is sticking to his mission to deliver the best crêpes outside of Brittany and wow his customers. And he’s not taking any shortcuts to get there; he’s going the extra mile to deliver a culinary experience like no other. That’s a surefire recipe to turn any customer into an instant fan!

And that’s what’s being a rebel brand is all about: Wow your audience and customers! Turn them into fans, and you’ll have no shortage of success.
